To extend my research I will be taking a deeper approach to colour by exploring landscape photography as inspired by Ansel Adams. I will be exploring towns in and around Hertfordshire capturing different colours, focusing on a specific colour present in my photo, I will also be paying a lot of attention on the contrasting colours that we see with in the fascinating landscapes of traditional urban areas compared to a few natural, uninhabited landscapes. I will take my own approach on landscape with a very modern approach.
There is a famous quote by Ansel Adams which I thought about when taking my photographs that deeply inspired me "I hope that my work will encourage self expression in others and stimulate the search for beauty and creative excitement in the great world around us.”
Here a some more of his colour images.
I took my images that represent traditional urban landscapes in Cambridge, Maldon . I chose these places and they are all towns that have lots of unique character and the buildings and views very much represent traditional and historical styles, that featured a range of colours. On the other hand I also took a few natural landscape images in Hatfield Broad Oak. I chose these areas because they have a large amount of green-land, which also include lakes and rivers which are very much uninhabited . These images focus on one specific colour such as greens, browns, oranges and yellows, this is due to the autumn season. However, I did manage to capture lovely lake views and some wildlife in my photographs which really add a comforting feeling to my image, due to my passion for animals.
My Ten Images
I have now used my photoshop idea from my original idea for colour, by adding a specific colour tone across the image, I chose to pick the colour according to the colour that best represents the contents in the image, and the link between them. I was inspired to do this as I think it is important to relate the mood of an image to its main colour. Below are photoshop images of the editing process I went through to achieve this idea.
I have added a fill colour by using the selective colour tool and by pin pointing the most vibrant colour, I then lowered the opacity of that colour to achieve my idea. I then played around with the colour balance to really highlight colour in my images. Also, when necessary, I changed my brightness and contrast to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing image.

The image above I cropped so that there was less negative space in the sky.
Overall, All my images have their own unique colours which to me are all significant in their own way. My shoot was very successful as I managed to capture both populated and natural landscapes with a variety of colours. Although it required a lot of travelling to capture my best images, I feel as though I have produced a strong series of photos with a unique approach on displaying colour. I do not think my work would have met this standard without my research into Ansel Adams Landscape photography.

overall good, however some of your images appear a little flat please discuss with me how you might overcome this using Photoshop... finally discuss the final edit and the addition of further images from the other formal elements...
